About the location: Sweden's first Culture Sound Zone
The kulturljudzon was instituted in 2021 by the city of Malmö, as an area where it’s permitted to make sound above the threshold of 85 dB. The initiative is aimed at preserving “space for life and sound” for cultural actors in a fast-growing city. The area is currently home to large factories, small-scale production companies, car washes and repair shops, an independent cinema, many rehearsal studios and music related initiatives, art galleries, craft initatives, two mosques, and many cultural associations.
